What’s New in LangFeed — March 2026

This update is one of our biggest yet. We’ve rebuilt live translation from the ground up, added video recording to voice practice, made inviting friends seamless with deep links, and polished the entire experience with a new animated splash screen. Here’s everything that’s changed.

Completely Rebuilt Live Translation

The old live translation view is gone. In its place is a clean, split-screen design with source and translation panels side by side. Transcription now streams in real-time chunks — you see the last three segments at a glance, with the most recent highlighted. You can toggle between Fast (on-device) and HD (cloud) transcription with a single tap.

Tap any chunk to save it directly to your vocabulary. Saved chunks get a green checkmark so you always know what’s been captured. The entire interface is lighter, faster, and designed to stay out of your way while you listen.

Voice Practice: Camera & Screen Recording

Voice practice now lets you turn on your front-facing camera and record the screen while you practice pronunciation. Hit the REC button, practice your words, and the video — complete with your audio, the AI tutor’s feedback, and the on-screen visuals — saves straight to your Photos.

This is perfect for sharing progress clips on social media or reviewing your own pronunciation sessions later. Audio playback automatically switches to speaker mode during recording so everything gets captured properly.

Profanity Detection in Voice Practice

The AI tutor now recognises when you’re practicing a swear word — across all 16 supported languages. Instead of pretending it didn’t happen, the tutor responds with a playful quip like “Well, someone’s been hanging out with the locals!” The quip is spoken aloud with TTS and appended to the feedback, keeping the experience fun without being preachy.

Deep Link Invites

Invite codes now work through deep links. When someone taps an invite link, the app opens directly and the code is stored automatically — even if they haven’t signed up yet. The onboarding screen and login screen both display the detected invite code in real time, so users know their code has been captured before they even create an account.

New Animated Splash Screen

The app launch experience has been completely redesigned. The new splash screen features an animated app icon that drops in with a spring bounce, a rolodex-style cycle through four random tools, and a popcorn animation of all 16 language flags. It closes with a summary tagline: “15 tools · 16 languages · 1 app.” The whole sequence is smooth, branded, and tappable to skip.

Tab Bar Always Visible

The bottom navigation tab bar is now visible on every tab, not just the profile screen. The same change applies to the Feed and Friends views. Navigation across the app is faster and more consistent.

Portuguese Translation Fixes

Brazilian Portuguese users will now see correct translations throughout Fluency Guide, Guided Deck Preview, and Guided Learning. Some translations were previously missing in these areas — that’s been fixed.
